Frances Priest

Born in England in 1976, Frances Priest studied in the ceramics department at Edinburgh College of Art from 1995 – 1999 becoming a part time lecturer for the Ceramics Department and First Year Studies Programme from 2002 – 2006. A long held interest in clay, it’s associated craft processes and the objects that emerge from making by hand result in work that can reach toward drawing, printmaking, installation, participation, collaboration, design and architectural additions and interventions.

Recent exhibitions include ‘Meet Your Maker’ (The National Museum of Scotland) 2010, ‘Collect’ (The Crafts Council at The Saatchi Gallery represent by The Scottish Gallery) 2010, ‘Objects of touch & travel…’ (Solo exhibition at The Scottish Gallery, Edinburgh) 2009, ‘The British Ceramics Biennial’ (Potteries Museum, Stoke on Trent) 2009. Her work is included in a number of national collections including The Victoria & Albert Museum, London, The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge and the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh.
