Sally Fawkes & Richard Jackson
Sally Fawkes' intriguing glass articulates the visible and invisible possibilties of place. Bold rhythmical forms entice with the reassurance of their geometric origins and are animated by carefully considered combinations of markmaking, mirrored planes and surfaces of rich associative colours. Each piece captures the imagination in a journey of intense visual exploration.
Richard Jackson's work is confident and challenging. It is the result of thoughtful development through 20 years of making objects in glass, that integrate concept with technical skill in their realisation. Throughout this time he has travelled widely recording images and impressions of his experiences, using drawing, writing and photography.
In 2000 Fawkes and Jackson set up a joint studio in Gloucestershire. Although both work in cast glass thier technical and conceptal approaches are very different. In their new body of work they compliment eachother's practices to create forms which are entriely unique.
