Sidsel Dorph-Jensen
Sidsel Dorph-Jensen studied at Konstfack University, Denmark and the Royal College of Art, London.
'I use traditional silversmithing techniques in an untraditional way, by constructing volumes using three-dimensional principals from other disciplines, leaving solder joins visible and exploring the surface texture; I create objects that show the malleability and organic nature of silver.'
Awards include: 2002 Young Designer Silversmiths Award, Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths, London; 2004 Leonardo Prize, International Rotary Associations; 2005 Ausa Regitze Tillys Bursary.
Collections include: Victoria & Albert Museum, London; Worshipful Company of Goldmsiths; Museet pa Koldinghus, Denmark.
Sidsel will be participating in British Silver Month at The Scottish Gallery 2 - 31 July 2011.
