August Showcases
Claus Bjerring, Jacqueline Ryan, Wendy Ramshaw
We will be presenting work by Danish silversmith and jeweller Claus Bjerring, Italian based jeweller Jacqueline Ryan and there will be a showcase of Wendy Ramshaw’s Picasso’s Ladies series during our Festival Exhibitions.
Alongside our Edinburgh Festival exhibitions; Duncan Shanks Across a Painted Sky and Out of Abstraction which includes a special tribute to Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, we have three special showcases.
To coincide with a talk at the Scottish National Gallery on 14th August 2012, Spaces to Dream: From Picasso’s Ladies to Rooms of Dreams The Jewellery of Wendy Ramshaw, we are marking our own unique relationship with Wendy Ramshaw by holding a special showcase of some of the Picasso’s Ladies series which was shown at The Scottish Gallery before a major exhibition and book was launched at The Victoria and Albert Museum in 1998 - 1999 . We will also be showing a number of ringsets and other unique pieces of her work.
Following our successful retrospective exhibition of the work of Jacqueline Ryan at Collect 2012 , we are bringing together some examples of her finest work from the past decade.
Danish silversmith and jeweller Claus Bjerring has been working with the theme of tartan to make a small series of jewellery and boxes in silver, palladium and gold for his first showcase at the Gallery.
