The Drawing Room
Ed Kluz
Ed Kluz is fascinated by the objects of our cultural heritage. He seeks out the extraordinary, the lost and the overlooked to inspire artworks that reexamine British Romanticism and redefine the contemporary view of historical architecture and landscape.
In Spring 2011 Ed Kluz toured the Border counties of Scotland. His explorations took him around some of the greatest eighteenth-century Scottish architecture including Edinburgh's New Town, the Dunmore Pineapple, Mellerstain House, Beymerside and the ruinous shells of Mavisbank House and Penicuik House, which he sketched, recorded and brought back to the studio to work into a collection of finished collages, drawings and paintings that form this exhibition.
